New Hall, Sutton Coldfield
New Hall is a beautiful old building dating from the 12th century, the oldest, inhabited, moated manor house in England, set in landscaped gardens on the edge of a golf course.
The marquee was originally intended to be sited at the side of the building, but after a visit by Tectonics UK it became apparent that this site was unsuitable due to the amount of slope, after advice from Tectonics UK, the hotel decided to erect the marquee on another lawned area to the rear. This area had better access as it could be approached from a lane serving the golf course.
They needed a large space to cater for substantial wedding parties as the hotel restaurant could only seat a maximum of 70 guests. They also needed a working kitchen area as the marquee was situated some distance from the hotel kitchen. The marquee also needed its own toilet area which would be properly plumbed in and sited to the rear.
 
Tectonics UK worked with the hotel group and a prefabricated kitchen hire company to install a 12m x 30m marquee with an additional 6m in length for the kitchen area. PKL Kitchens installed a kitchen, cold room and dishwashing units within the 12m x 6m kitchen area and Tectonics UK manufactured a special PVC gable end from mesh fabric to allow free circulation of air within this space.
Tectonics UK worked with the marquee hire company on the installation and they installed the electrics and carpet whilst Tectonics UK directed the erection of the marquee and flooring and installation of linings.
