Solid Sided Marquees

New Hall Hotel had purchased a marquee from Tectonics approximately 4½ years ago which had been used extensively for weddings, conferences and other functions.  They contacted us again with a view to upgrading their facilities and solving the problem of noise.

We suggested they should purchase a brand new solid sided marquee with solid sandwich panels and double glazed doors and windows, with an interior acoustic lining.  They also purchased a sound ceiling system as a “quick fix” which directs the sound of the music down on to the dance floor and greatly reduces the decibels of the music coming from the marquee.  The hotel also requested that Tectonics supply a porch with an additional double glazed door to create an “air lock” for people going in and out of the marquee during a function.

Tectonics UK arranged for the existing marquee to be purchased by a hire company to add to their stock.



Tectonics UK advised on the groundworks required and were on site to advise on levelling out the area in preparation for the installation of the marquee.  A steel subframe was then laid with an aluminium and wooden board flooring system on top before the erection of the marquee.

Once the marquee was in place measurements were taken for the installation of a second marquee to cover the toilet area. This was quite technically challenging as the rear of this marquee was on a lower level.



The main marquee was lined with an acoustic lining for further noise reduction and a new ivory pleated lining was supplied to decorate the inside.

The client was extremely pleased with the results and will be hosting a group conference in the marquee shortly.
